How to spend your Saturday

So, I recently started a job at Family and Children's Service and this Saturday one of our connected agencies is having a walk for adoption and not just any adoption, adoption for some of those in the most need, foster children. So if you are in Nashville this weekend meet me at the bandshell in Centennial Park at 10:00 to give our support to some deserving kids!
Now as you can see we have teams, well of course Family and Children's has a team and we are going to have a flag. And I painted our flag.

this is what our logo looks like
as you can see there are somethings missing from our flag. Tomorrow we will be adding felt leaves with the names of the kids who are waiting to be adopted.

Mirror mirror

This mirror is from one of those cheap mirrors you get at the drug store and I just update it to be a little more personal.

Supplies:
Mirror
Glitter (I suggest picking one color closer to the color of the mirror already and then an accent color; mine is black and purple)
Mod Podge
Rhinestones
E6000

How to:
1) Make glitter mixture

  • It should be 2 parts glitter 1 part Mod Podge
  • If you use two colors use about twice as much of the color close to the mirror than the accent

2) Paint the mixture on the mirror

  • this will take multiple coats and your should let each coat dry partially before adding another
3) Cover with a coat of mod podge to seal it
4) Glue rhinestones down with E6000

  • be considerate when doing this you don't want to distract too much from your beautiful face!

Done! Enjoy your reflection in the fun mirror

Mardi Gras frame

This is a project that involves holding your mouth right for most of it. It also takes a decent amount of time. Just a warning

Supplies:
Paint
Metallic confetti
Mod podge
Foam brush

How to:
1) Paint the frame a good basic color because it will peak through
2)Let dry
3) Coat with mod podge
4) Start sprinkling and covering the frame with the confetti
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until desired affect is achieved

  • It will probably take a couple coats

4)Enjoy

After a break for the horrid mono: The conclusion of WHAT I DID WITH THAT

Sorry, I have been gone and not up dated you on my project, but I had mono and wasn't really up to well anything. But that is not important now is the answer to the big question...

What did I do with those cool children's toys?
I made bookends because imagination should never end and books help keep it alive.

A little different right?

This is a really easy change to make a really cool set of bookends.
Supplies:
Large plastic animals of your choice
Spray paint your choice again
Wood blocks (I took the easy route and got them from the hobby store in town)
Black paint (spray paint or acrylic your choice)
E6000
How it is done:
1)Spray paint the animals
2)Paint the wood blocks
3)Glue animals down
4)Enjoy their awesomeness!
