Day 1- Project 1- Inspiration 1

When I was considering what my first inspiration should be the ideas floating in my head were overwhelming. Should it be a weird, a person from history, a book, a movie, but none of them seemed right for my first project. In fact it quickly came down to my friends and family, because they all inspire me every day. I am surrounded by some of the most amazing people, many of whom will probably inspire a project soon. But for my first project I wanted to honor my grandmother.
My grandmother had dementia most of my childhood, so I don't really remember the amazing woman my grandmother was. But I do remember that my grandmother had an amazing eye for design and style. She whip out some of the most beautiful flower arrangements ever seen. She had a truly beautiful style.  My grandmother was also one of my biggest supporters and I know she would love the idea of this blog and try to figure out how work a computer to read it. That would have been fun to watch. When I was young and just starting creating my own little arts and crafts projects I used to make button bracelets for everyone I know. I had a minor button
obsession, and it turns out I still do!So for Grandma I designed a flower made out of buttons. I made it in to a key chain so I would always carry a reminder of my grandma's love with me.
To create something similar to this you need:
  • Five buttons of a similar style or not your choice
  • One big button as a back
  • cool button for the center
  • a lanyard
  • the wonder tool.... a hot glue gun
  • thin wire
  • Steps
  1. thread the wire through the big button
  2. wrap wire around the bottom of the lanyard create a really strong hold (it might be beneficial to use a little hot glue as well on the back)
  3. glue small petal buttons around the edge of the bigger button. This is the most time consuming part and can be a little tricky. You have to hold your mouth just right
  4. glue your cool center button on
  5.  let cool!
  6. share with someone you love or keep as a reminder of love!
