A splotchy canvas

This is another super easy wall decor project. I like it because you can include the color scheme of your room in one place and tie everything together with out a lot of work.

Steps:

1: pick your colors

2: put big spots of color on the canvas

3: wrap canvas in tin foil

4: smush the tin foil around on the canvas

5: carefully remove tin foil

The sponge canvas

This canvas actually came about on accident. I was working on another project (to be posted later) and involved, shockingly enough, foam brushes and many colors of paint. I have the tendency to over fill my brushes and of course on this day I did that very thing and before I cleaned the brush I stamped the extra out on paper. And it looked really cool.
So I pulled a canvas out and went to town on it. It is really simple just stamp a foam brush straight down all over the canvas and in different colors. Don't fill too much of the canvas at a time.

For the love of stickers

I am obsessed with stickers. They make me so happy. But that typically means I have a lot of stickers and no projects for them. This time I had an idea; make them into art pieces. I am always looking for new cheap ways to adorn my walls. So, this is another cheap canvas piece. (And remember you can always make canvases out of boxes, just paint the box a base color and add supports)

To start this project do what you did for the die cut project and paint a coordinating color for the back ground. Then, when that is dry place your stickers. I glued them down with tacky glue. I did not mod podge the top because I used glittery stickers and I didn't want to dull the shimmer.

How to spend your Saturday

So, I recently started a job at Family and Children's Service and this Saturday one of our connected agencies is having a walk for adoption and not just any adoption, adoption for some of those in the most need, foster children. So if you are in Nashville this weekend meet me at the bandshell in Centennial Park at 10:00 to give our support to some deserving kids!

Now as you can see we have teams, well of course Family and Children's has a team and we are going to have a flag. And I painted our flag. 

this is what our logo looks like

as you can see there are somethings missing from our flag. Tomorrow we will be adding felt leaves with the names of the kids who are waiting to be adopted. 

Mirror mirror

 This mirror is from one of those cheap mirrors you get at the drug store and I just update it to be a little more personal.

Supplies:
Mirror
Glitter (I suggest picking one color closer to the color of the mirror already and then an accent color; mine is black and purple)
Mod Podge 
Rhinestones
E6000

How to:
1) Make glitter mixture

• It should be 2 parts glitter 1 part Mod Podge
• If you use two colors use about twice as much of the color close to the mirror than the accent       

2) Paint the mixture on the mirror

• this will take multiple coats and your should let each coat dry partially before adding another

3) Cover with a coat of mod podge to seal it
4) Glue rhinestones down with E6000

• be considerate when doing this you don't want to distract too much from your beautiful face!
